What are some breeds of horses that are common and some that are not common?

I am doing a show at camp. It is nothing big and I dont have any acess to supplies besides a curry, brushes and hoove cleaning tools. Do you have any ideas for the mane besides braids?that would be great!

A day or two before the show, bathe your horse very well. If he/she’s white, then use a whitening shampoo and let it sit for a little bit. Then rinse it off, and your horse should be you cleaner. If you totally want to keep him gorgeous, you can put a scrim sheet on him. When he’s totally dry (totally; not damp), you can clip his ears and muzzle, and maybe his legs if they are shaggy. When you clip his ears, tip them down and squeeze his ear so that the hair won’t fall into the sensitive ear canal.

There is so much, don’t know where to start!
Research the breeds, genders, & disciplines. Types of stables, if you aren’t boarding, nutrition, types of tack. To show or not, endurance, trail riding, management, so many choices. I suggest you read or research on the web.

Okay so this weekend is jam-packed with IEA regionals, a banquet for another equitation league I am on, plus prepping for the horses for the horse show and an additional meeting about regionals.
So this is my schedule:
Friday – Team Dinner
Saturday – Prep for horse show in the morning, then banquet
Sunday – REGIONALS!
How on earth will I get all my homework done and the sleep I need to survive?
Yeah I do need to ask this on here. The more advise the better (:

Kentucky Horse Park (always something going on!) if you are going its a lot of walking so wear good shoes and if you are going to go on a trail ride, its good for beginners, but its kinda lame for any rider who has been riding for a while. still fun though

I recently started leasing an amazing horse named Goody. I think we’re a good team, but I want to be extremely gentle with him because he’s a hot horse. Any tips or suggestions on how to keep him calm and relaxed? I don’t want being ridden to be a bad experience for him.

It all depends entirely on how you and him act. I ride a hot horse, and I control him by keeping myself relaxed. He’s trained to be ridden through seat, so I can get him to slow down by posting slower and speed up by changing position.
Take a lot of deep breaths and keep yourself as calm as possible. Make sure you’re shoulders arn’t tense, and half-halt alot if he needs it. Remember to release after you half-halt. YOu can finger half-half him if you have to-it reminds him you’re there and in control without putting to much stress on his mouth.
I’d lunge him alot-but without details the rest is up to you. Ask you’re trainer or anyone you can turn to for help. Your trainer will have seen him in action and will know what to do, and someone with experience can usually tell fairly fast what tips you can use.

Stay calm. They feel your tension. Rider her like you have done it all her life. Relax, and don’t get stiff. Most importantly ahve fun and enjoy your new horse. Green horses are fun there is so much you get to teach them and show them.

i was inthat same position too so…………you could look at the vets office sometimes they have flyers up… or you could make your ownand ask to hang it up at the vets office. that helps a lot. also try looking in the phone book

They also cant breathe through their mouths..only there nose
Horses can see all colors except for red and green..and when something that is red or green is shown to them…it appears grey to them.
